My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I really love Emily Giffin. She seems to have a firsthand knowledge of infidelity or at least maybe the feeling that the grass is greener on the other side. Heart of the Matter begins with Tessa thinking of the last moments of normalcy in one's life- the precious seconds before an accident that changes one's life forever. Yet when her plastic surgeon husband, Nick, is called away from their anniversary dinner to tend to a patient, she doesn't yet know that that is one of those moment's for her. Critics claim the story is slow paced, but I didn't feel that way at all. In fact, I flew through it in 24 hours and wanted more when I was done.
